Rhonda Mae Turner

Rhonda Mae Turner, 67, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 at her home. Rhonda was born in Batesville, IN on November 16, 1958, a daughter of the late Ethel Mae (Workman) Turner and Billy Don Turner. She attended Bethel Unity Baptist Church and then the Rising Sun First Baptist Church. Rhonda loved going to church and the fellowship with the congregation. She was a lover of all animals and had a special fondness for horses. Rhonda enjoyed spending her time doing puzzles and watching something from her large collection of movies. Rhonda is survived by her sister, Connie Stephenson (Randy), of Rising Sun, IN; by her stepmother, Kathryn Turner, of Patriot, IN; by her step sisters, Betty Shon Hutchinson, of Patriot, IN and Waunita Kay Sawyers, of Evarts, KY; by her step brother, James Michael Gurley (Deanna), of Patriot, IN; by her nieces, Michelle Davies, of Rising Sun, IN; Sheena Clay (Jerry), of Austin, IN and Kindra Turner, of Greendale, IN; by her aunt, Nancy See; by her uncle, Ed Cavanaugh and by many cousins, other family members and friends. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Don & Ethel Mae Turner; by her brother, Donald Ray Turner and by her nephew, Daniel Lee Turner.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, February 27th, 2026 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, February 27th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
